Dear friends and colleagues,
We would like to encourage you to use the internet platform “For fair elections” and the Twitter hashtag #bgref2013. You may publish your impressions, pictures and video files about election violations that you have witnessed on the 27th of January – the day of the referendum. Everyone can use these internet tools, trough mobile phone or computer and assist us to form a database of civil society evidences for the fairness of the first democratic referendum in Bulgaria.
For further information (in Bulgarian) about the use of the “Fair elections” platform, please visit this page . Your signals will be placed on an interactive map of Bulgaria in the website, and will be visible for all users and institutions using the platform as a source of information.
For those of you, using Twitter, the hashtag #bgref2013 will allow to post your comments on the election process. All sent messages will be transferred to a special wall of the platform “Vote buying = city dying”, where everyone (not only registered users of Twitter) with internet access will be able to see them.

The Institute for Public Environment Development will conduct an independent observation of the referendum with more than 30 volunteers – observers in different parts of the country. We would like to involve as many people as we can, to monitor the election process and to report what they see, trough the use of these tools. Our team will write down and verify your signals of election violations, and we will place them on the platforms.
