On November 3rd IPED officially started its internship program “Public Policies and Civic Participation” of the Institute for Public Environment Development (IPED).
Over the next weeks, 12 students from three of Bulgaria’s largest universities — Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski,” the University of National and World Economy, and the New Bulgarian University — will take part in our work.
At our first joint meeting, the interns learned more about IPED’s initiatives, our monitoring of public institutions, and advocacy as a key mechanism in the work of civil society organizations.
During the internship, students will meet with representatives of various NGOs in Bulgaria, who will share their experience and insights on topics such as fundraising and volunteering, human rights protection, community organizing, and recent initiatives in these fields.
The interns will also take an active role in IPED’s daily work by carrying out practical assignments related to data collection, data processing, and the analysis of public institutions’ documents.
