A key activity of IPED is aimed at monitoring the public institutions. Our team believes that the institutions should work in an accountable way, in order to increase the public trust in them. This is possible only when the attention of the citizens is focused on the way those in power make decisions. Monitoring of the work of the institutions and the feedback sent to them are the foundation for the successful coordination of their priorities with the issues important for the society.
IPED monitors the work of the National Assembly, the Central Electoral Commission, the National Audit Office and other institutions that play a key role in organizing the democratic process and governance of the country. We monitor and publish information on the activities of the members of parliament, the legislative process and the way public resources are spent. We work on advocacy initiatives for the development of the democratic institutions in Bulgaria.
