Impact Assessment of the Electoral Code and Advocacy for Change in the Electoral Rule
Object of action: The desire to change the Electoral code and the system for election of parliamentary representatives became an essential topic in the expressed positions of protesting citizens. This project aims to assess the impact of the existing electoral rules and to propose amendments that would empower the role of citizens in the political process and would increase the trust in elections. The early parliamentary elections (held in May 2013) present an opportunity to evaluate existing problems in the electoral legislation and to analyze the data and the institutional activity. The project will conduct an advocacy campaign for the amendment of electoral rules and will monitor the actions of the newly formed legislative institutions in this direction.
