When Data Meets Citizens - Enhansing the capacity for advocacy and monitoring through research and visualisation of data from the public institutions
Object of action: The IPED aims to increase its capacity for institutional monitoring and advocacy by building up our online platforms and presenting data on the effect of conducted public policies. In cooperation with a community of activists for the use of "open data", we will work to enhance the interaction of citizens with the public institutions. The project aims to develop new opportunities for processing and visualization of the institutional data, provided through the web-based public records and other sources. The project aims to present alternative views, relevant to the ongoing civic agenda, available for Internet and social media users.
The project aims to unify the "capital of knowledge and skills" of active citizens and civic groups, who can work together to increase the potential for positive changes in the public environment. It will influence the institutional reactions along with the level of civic awareness for the effects of conducted public policies.
